Well, you can use serialize to strip out fields, or otherwise redefine the scope. Generally, I find it a lot more straight forward to just utilize can.Model instances like I would any other can.Map. You can clean up the data before submission, but otherwise your restful api should absolutely sanitize the data regardless.
