"List inserted event"? Do you mean can.List "add" event? What about if someone uses can.Map without a can.List; how would you capture when that is added to the DOM?
And while it may be sophisticated on the inside, it's simple on the outside. The same could be said for CanJS. I'll be working to keep can.transition "dumb" heheh
